Thursday, December 2nd - Day 4

Today started out with snow - had a moment or two of sun and ended with the Lancaster Old Tyme Christmas Celebration. In between we had a lot of proofing of images, two press checks, some more writing and a partridge in a pear tree, but still no moose sighting. We are not leaving until we verify that moose exist!

Morning outside the hotel and the snowfall out the back window...
The plates for the next form waiting against the press.
Dennis is our pressman today, as Kevin has worked four 12 hour days, so he's off to hunt for the weekend.

Dennis checks the "numbers" as he prepares the press for the new plates and then gets up there and hangs them.

Rich chatting as I take a few shots. Our sheets by the Heidelberg Two color press where the PMS type and Spot Gloss Varnish are printed.
This is Terri. She doesn't like her picture taken, seems like that is normal around here and I'm not sure why. Afterall they're all fine looking folks! Terry is in the proofing and film room and is bringing one of the proofs out for us to review. And then back at her work station working away, or showing us the photo of the bear her husband got while hunting a few weeks ago and telling us about the bear underneath her tree stand when she was out bow hunting. They also have a sugar farm and make great maple syrup which they can ship anywhere - so write and we'll get you the info for ordering!

This is Darlene. She is a production coordinator/designer and works with our Quark files and gets them ready for the press...and double checks Rich's work and our pages. She's great, although she too tries to hide from the camera. But not for long...
The side of the barn were the digital output and other areas are, Rich in "our East Coast Quiet Light Publishing office", the birches out back and the evening light.
Lancaster, New Hampshire had it's Old Tyme Christmas and lighting event this evening. Stores stayed open late - 'til 8pm - and folks walked around looking at window decorations and shopping. Music was heard from many store fronts. Santa was spotted occasionally and horse drawn "sleigh" rides on wagons went around town. The only way to make it better would have been a bit of snow falling!
Does this hat fit right?
The Lions Club had a giant card to sign for the troops and a hot dog stand to raise some money. Nice dogs!
Another great day in the Northeast Kingdom!
