Wednesday December 1, 2004 - Day 3
| OK, so today is really December 2nd, but the morning started out fast and we always had something to do, and since we went to "Scotland" at dinner I didn't get to have a page for yesterday ready first thing this morning. But here is yesterday's news, finally. Enjoy. |

| John Stinehour is in charge of the digital imaging and scanning and his masterful work has taken my film through the scanning, and plate making stage to the printed sheet with a perfection to getting the colors to match the transparencies. His quickness on the computer is truly an art as he changes levels on various color channels to make the scans match my images. Before getting here he would send us proofs, we would comment and send back and then he would send corrections. Now we can sit down with him and make the corrections on screen and then see the proofed results in a matter of minutes. |

At the end of the day we can't resist taking yet another shot of me with todays press run of the "big book". Then its time to call it a day and shut down the computers for the night... |

Kevin, me, John and Peter are looking at the next form to be printed. As the sheets are printed Kevin brings a sheet out for approval, we make color corrections if necaessary, he dials in the ink on press to match in small areas and brings us another "test" sheet. After going over that and any differences he may do it over again or we may be ready to roll on 10,000 sheets, but only after I sign off on the sheets.

It was snowing in the morning, then rained all day, then turned back to snow at night. Photo by Rich Nickel.
Back in the pressroom Kevin cleans the plates every so often to insure a clean run as his eye catches things or at specific time intervals. In the meantime others are breaking open yet another of the pallets of our Sappi McCoy Silk paper.
Another fine day at The Stinehour Press!
