The Weekend Update - December 11 & 12
There were two purposes for this weekend trip for our families. One, for everyone to see the art of bookmaking and what we are doing here first hand. The second was to celebrate this phase of the project. So while Rich & I spent the day at the press approving 4 runs of varnish and type, everyone else spent a relaxing day at the Mountain View Grand Hotel. That night we had a celebration dinner at Juliette's restaurant. The perfect end to the day. On Sunday we played tourists. After breakfast at the Water Wheel we showed everyone the Mount Washington Hotel and then went to see the cog railway which heads up Mt. Washington. We ended at the world's longest candy bar, which if you have been reading along, you know we featured right here on this site only a few days ago. We must have done a good job since everyone wanted to go there!
Do we have enough group photos yet? Above we walk back from a false moose sighting...breakfast at the Water Wheel.
Wait! Is that a moose????!!!!???? HHHmmmmm...
At the Mt. Washington Hotel we can't help but clown around...
The cog railway goes up Mt. Washington and is the oldest cog railway in the world built in the mid 1800's. What a cool place.
A boy and his train.
Back at the world's longest candy bar and the talking moose with Sam in the famous Rich Nickel pose.
Scenes from Littleton, NH and the covered bridge which Darlene's husband helped build.
