Monday, November 29th - Day One.
We arrived in Manchester, NH, last night about 7:30 in a downpour of rain. It was almost midnight when we finally arrived in Lancaster, NH where our hotel is located. This morning we made the five minute drive to Stinehour where they had the first press proof ready for us to see. After a few adjustments on the press it was finally time to give them the ok to roll the presses and give birth to this 3 year project. What a feeling! I also got to see about half of the paper stock which will be used in the making of this book. The rest will be delivered next week. So here are a few shots from this morning.
Me and half the paper for the book...
The first sheets coming off the press.
Kevin checking the sheets as they come off the press. He checks a sheet every 500 sheets or so.
Rich Nickel "on press" as we over see this "Big Ass Book".

The Yellow, Magenta, Cyan and Black ink rollers ...and this makes a book...amazing.
Kevin pulls off another one for us to see...
The first stack of 4,000 sheets.
We admire the first run of the project!
And find John Stinehour already working on future film pages...

And now it is time for lunch. Hope you enjoyed this look into the making of the book. More to come....
